Summer Meets Spooky: Halloween in July at Camp! – Short Hills Week 5

Who says costumes are just for October?

Our Halloween in July theme day brought an extra dose of excitement to camp as campers arrived dressed in an incredible variety of creative, funny, and imaginative costumes. For one day, summer camp became a place where superheroes, princesses, athletes, animals, pirates, spooky creatures, and favorite movie characters all came together for an unforgettable celebration.

The camp was filled with smiles as friends admired one another’s costumes, guessed different characters, and posed for plenty of photos. It was wonderful to see campers confidently showing off their creativity and encouraging each other with compliments throughout the day. The excitement was contagious, and every cabin seemed to have its own cast of memorable characters.

Our counselors joined in on the fun too, arriving in costumes that added even more laughter and spirit to the day. Seeing campers and staff dressed up together created a fun, welcoming atmosphere that reminded everyone that camp is a place where imagination is always encouraged.

Halloween in July is more than just a fun theme day—it’s an opportunity for campers to express themselves, celebrate their creativity, and enjoy the simple joy of pretending to be someone (or something!) else for a day. Whether they chose something spooky, silly, adventurous, or completely unexpected, every costume helped make the camp community even more vibrant.
