Our campers have been busy exploring, creating, and solving problems all week long! In the morning, Adventure Quest campers transformed into secret agents with one important mission: travel to as many places as possible. Their journey began by imagining their dream vacations before being magically transported to a cozy campsite, where they gathered around a bonfire to roast marshmallows. As night fell, they settled into their tents and enjoyed delicious s’mores to end their adventure. Meanwhile, in Detective Spy Lab, campers sharpened their investigative skills by examining crime scenes, following clues like cookie crumbs and knocked-over vases to identify the culprit. They also learned how blood spatter analysis can provide valuable evidence during an investigation. Over in 3D Art, dragons have inspired every project as campers created colorful bean mosaics of dragon heads and practiced origami folding techniques. In Makey Makey, campers combined creativity with technology by using playdough, wires, and a power source to build interactive game controllers while learning how electrical circuits work and why the placement of each wire is essential. E-Commerce campers have been researching what makes a website successful and completed a scavenger hunt to compare the cheapest and most expensive items they could find, learning more about pricing, marketing, and online shopping along the way.

The excitement continued throughout the afternoon as campers put their scientific thinking, creativity, and engineering skills to the test. In Crazy Chemistry, campers explored the science of pH by testing different solutions and determining whether they were acidic, basic, or neutral. They also investigated the strength of different types of tape by seeing which adhesive could support the greatest number of washers, making predictions and comparing results like real scientists. In Canvas Painting, our classroom has been filled with mini Van Goghs recreating Starry Night, with each camper adding their own unique interpretation through colorful swirls, glowing stars, and bright moons. Civil Engineering campers have been designing and constructing bridges before testing their durability by carefully stacking water bottles and books on top to discover how much weight each structure could support. In Arduinos, campers have been bringing their ideas to life through coding and electronics, creating projects ranging from recreations of the classic no-internet dinosaur game to colorful light shows and joystick-controlled inventions. Finally, Marketing campers have been brainstorming creative solutions to everyday problems, from curing an ice cream craving to inventing “hot ice cream,” and have been designing eye-catching advertisements to persuade customers and promote their imaginative products. Every class has been filled with curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on learning, making it another memorable week of discovery and fun at camp.
