The Civil Engineering: Bridges and Buildings class started the week with an engineering challenge: can you build a structure that will support the weight of “Froggy” using just index cards and tape?
The campers had the option of working individually or in a team. All in all, the four structures that were built all held up Froggy! A few of the groups figured out that connected triangle shapes gave good stability and support. One camper opted to make a more square, house-like shape with pillars in the center to support her “roof” where Froggy hung out! She even added a door and windows to her structure! Great work, engineers!!
