Going Mad for Mad Machines!
Our Mad Engineers created and combined triangles into circles to explore the foundation of buildings. They tested if a bridge made of industry-grade materials (pasta and playdough) can avoid collapsing under a water bottle’s weight.

From balancing bottles to launching ping pong balls, the campers were tasked with creating a Trebuchet, or a ping pong ball launcher. With sticks, spoons, and rubber bands, their ping pong balls flew across the building, and the team with the most distance received Ivy Points along the way.

By combining learning with hands-on activities, there’s no quiet moment in mad machines. Every second is filled with sounds of machine creation and foundational discussion. We can’t wait to see what these Mad Engineers have up their sleeves next!
