How the time flies during the summer. What seemed like the start of a fun new year has transitioned into the final week of International Ivy in 2025. As some sites have already ended the year off with a light-hearted goodbye to the campers and faculty, Basking Ridge preps to do the same. But before that happens, we are here to celebrate one last week of International Ivy filled fun for everyone! Here at the Pingry school, our classrooms are filled with innovate, thought-provoking, and creative classes that expand on the mind of campers. In the morning, Film-Making is hard at work creating their next big film. On the other hand, Math Competition class encourages their students to use their minds when it comes to the wonderful, yet challenging world of mathematics. The class, although at first glance sounds like summer homework, includes fun aspects to keep the campers in a joyful mood. Escape Room class found its campers scavenging the room for their own little hunts they made. On the scientific side, Youngsters Chemistry found their students making soap bars with a beautiful scent. NASA class, hosted by Mad Science, found their students exploring the breathtaking and awe-inspiring world of space. On the technological side, Makey-Makey introduced a large class of campers to the circuit board and the computer’s keyboard and mouse.
After a quick lunch, Basking Ridge’s International Ivy hops right back into action by bringing full day and afternoon students to their classes. War and Peace introduces the idea of strategy and decisiveness to campers as they make their decision that would best affect their simulated civilizations. Stop Motion Class creates films much like the morning counterpart, Film-Making. The only difference is that stop motion adds more patience and balance as the students learn not just about film, but also about careful maneuvering when regarding their pieces.
This week’s theme is all about talent. Everyone has that one talent that stands them out from others. Whether its telling a funny joke, or playing an instrument, uniqueness is always encouraged at International Ivy. For the last week of International Ivy, we wish for campers to share these gifts to others.
This year has been really fun for the staff here at Basking Ridge. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank every parent and camper for choosing us this wonderful year. We hope to see all of you guys next year, and wish you a great rest of your summer, fall, winter, and spring. Until then, let’s celebrate Week 8 for 2025!
