Our Junior Naturalist class has been buzzing with curiosity and discovery! This group of young environmental explorers has been busy immersing themselves in the wonders of the natural world—and learning a ton along the way.

Each day, the class heads out on nature walks to observe the environment around them. From trees and flowers to bugs and birds, campers are learning to see nature with a scientist’s eye. Back in the classroom, they bring their findings to life using microscopes to take a closer look at flowers, leaves, and other specimens—sparking awe at the tiny details often missed by the naked eye.
The campers have also taken on some exciting hands-on projects. They created their own paper using recycled materials, discovering how everyday items can be given new life. Another highlight was constructing water filters using cotton balls and native plants, giving them a practical and important lesson in environmental engineering and clean water access.

Today, the class ended on a heartwarming note. In a thoughtful gesture, the Junior Naturalists presented hand-picked flowers to our Site Director, counselors, and Miss Amy as a thank-you for supporting their learning journey. It was a sweet reminder of how connected they’ve become to both the natural world and the camp community.
We’re so proud of the curiosity, care, and creativity this class continues to show. The Junior Naturalists are truly blooming!
