French Week: Symbols of the French Revolution (Summit Week 5)

This week in Youngster: Right Brain, campers were studying the Arc de Triomphe. They learned of its history, size, and stairs through virtual tours. The campers thoroughly enjoyed making art based off of the Triomphe by using both marshmallows and toothpicks to recreate it.

They also learned about the Fleur-de-lis, which translates to “flower of the lily.” Campers made collages using construction paper and tissue paper to replicate Claude-Monet’s impressionistic paintings of French water lilies.
