Scientists working in the field of chemistry study all the matter in the universe and explain how different types of matter – like eggs and flour – change when they are heated, cooled or combined with other substances. Food is a fantastic way to experiment and explore the natural world. Students will be making carbonated lemonade, yeast bread, strawberry jam, pizza and other treats while learning about chemical changes, thickening agents, solutions and phase changes.
