Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT Media Lab where kids can easily create and share their interactive stories, animation or simple games. Using simple drag-and-drop programming, students can select characters (called sprites) and control their actions and interactions. Students will create animation and games while learning the programming commands in Scratch. In the process, they are subtly exposed to basic programming concepts such as conditional statements, iteration, variables, and event triggers. Students share their creations with the rest of the class at the end of the week.
