This week, campers in math of money learned how to apply math to real world situations! So far, they have played Monopoly, learned how to invest in stocks, and worked in teams to figure out how to get change using the least amount of coins. Today, students chose a real restaurant and were given a budget of $40 to spend however they wanted. At the end of the activity, it was revealed that the students also had to factor in tax and tip, so they had to re-evaluate their choices to fit within the $40 budget. Students worked together to compare their choices and learn how to budget effectively.
Here we can see some happy campers working on making the correct change!
