Unmasking Artistic Talent
We have some incredibly talented artist with us this week in Summit. Our Canvas Painting class learned how to use masking tape to create negative space on their canvas. They started by either priming the canvas with a color or leaving it white. Then after it dried they created a pattern with the masking tape while being mindful that any area covered in tape will retain the background color. From there they either brushed various colors onto the canvas, drop paint directly, used a palette knife to spread and blend the colors to create a gradient across their canvas. The outcomes were amazing and the campers had a great time creating them.
