Welcome back to the camp blog! This week, our Minecraft Survival campers dug deep into the virtual dirt. They are not just surviving; they are thriving.
To power their massive end-of-week building projects, our campers quickly realized they needed resources. In Minecraft Survival, that means one thing: setting up efficient, automated farms. We sat down with the class to hear exactly what they are growing and why.
Options for this week can include:
Wheat and Cows for the Library Builders
Several campers are teaming up to build a massive, enchanting library. To get the best enchantments, they need dozens of bookshelves.
- The Strategy: They started by clearing land for massive wheat fields.
- The Purpose: The wheat is used to breed cows, providing a steady supply of leather for books.
Iron Golem Farms for the Industrialists
We have a group of engineers this week aiming to build a fully automated railway system connecting everyone’s bases.
- The Strategy: Instead of spending hours mining underground, they constructed a complex village setup to spawn Iron Golems.
- The Purpose: This provides them with an endless supply of iron ingots to craft hundreds of minecart tracks.
Bamboo and Kelp for the Green Energy Grid
Fuel is always an issue when you are smelting stacks of glass and stone for modern skyscrapers.
- The Strategy: A few eco-conscious campers focused entirely on farming bamboo and kelp.
- The Purpose: Bamboo grows incredibly fast and can be automatically funneled into furnaces, while dried kelp blocks serve as a highly efficient, renewable fuel source.
Sugar Cane for the Cartographers
Exploration is a huge part of our camp server. One group is dedicated to mapping out the entire continent.
- The Strategy: They lined the local riverbanks with miles of sugar cane.
- The Purpose: Sugar cane is crafted into paper, which is essential for expanding their maps and trading with villager cartographers for rare treasure locations.
Let’s see what our campers had to say:
