Sport-tacular Classes in Wayne!

Week 6 in Wayne is packed with some sport-tacular classes!

This week, our Youngsters are traveling to Italy to learn aboout their culture and customs. They got to design their own pizza art project, created mosaic flags using tissue paper pieces, and made fun colorful paper masks to emulate the festivals that take place in Italy!

The Mad Machines class is always up to a new experiment or lab. One experiment that got the camperes really engaged was the washing machine experiment. The campers made observations before testing three different detergents to see which got the cloth the cleanest. The Gain detergent was best at getting the ketchup out of the cloth, and would probably work best on grass and dirt from sports, too!

Fashion Design has been making a bunch of dresses out of cloth, from paper to the mannequins. They also took a trip to the past and looked at how fashion has changed over the decades, and how fashion has been influenced by what is going on in the world.

Math of Money has learned a lot with things involving financial literacy. During free time in the class, the kids have a lot of fun playing with the fake cash registers. They set up their own “stores” to sell our break games to their classmates!

Leadership, Negotiation, and Persuasion has learned about different negotiation tactics and persuasion categories. They did an activity involving role-play as world leaders and trading materials with each other. They needed to negotiate deals between the countries to get all their materials.

In the afternoon, we have a big class of Digital Artists learning how to use the different tools in Adobe Fresco. They have experimented with different brush strokes like paint, spray paint, smudge, and watercolor to make beautiful galaxies, sunsets, and even their favorite desserts! 

The Junior Physicians are learning all about the human body- from cells all the way up to the different body systems! Today they focused on the skeletal and muscular systems. Did you know that humans have 206 bones in their body, and over 600 muscles?!
